How Life360 kept Diamond connected to her family during a terror attack

Our users at Life360 often share stories of how they’re using the app – whether it’s about how they are staying connected with their families or have peace of mind from monitoring new teenage drivers. The stories of gratitude we receive on a daily basis keeps us working hard to constantly improve our app. We recently connected with one of our users, Diamond H., who offered to share her own powerful story about how Life360 helped keep her connected to her family during a terrorist attack while abroad.

In August 2017, Diamond (Dime for short) was shopping on Barcelona’s central tourist avenue, Las Ramblas. After exiting a store, Dime was preparing to cross the street when she saw a van hop onto the curb and head straight into the crowded street. She quickly ran back into the store and immediately contacted her parents.

“Something serious is happening in Barcelona – turn on the TV. Please keep an eye on me with Life360 to make sure I make it back to the hotel.”

Dime’s parents were able to watch in real time as she made her way back to her hotel. Even though they were in different countries, her parents were able to feel connected to her throughout the terrifying event and found peace of mind watching her moving towards safety.

“My parents love the app and that it kept us connected during such a scary time. Life360 is the first app they download whenever they get a new phone.”

Thankfully, Dime came out of the Barcelona terror attack unharmed and it hasn’t taken away her love for travel. Since the incident, Dime has launched a career as a social media influencer and it has taken her on many adventures – a lot of them abroad. Since she mostly travels by herself, Life360 has made it easy to stay connected with her parents, who love to check the app to see if she’s made it to her next destination safely.
