How Members Control Their Experience

Life360 is built around consent and choice.

Every member decides how they participate, what they share, and which features they use.

This page walks through the controls available in the app and what each one does.

Location Sharing

Your control:
You can pause location sharing at any time within your Circle.

Open Settings
Tap Location Sharing
Toggle off Location Sharing

When location sharing is off, your location is not visible to your Circle.

Driving & Crash Features (“Connect to Arity”)

Driving features like Drive Detection and Crash Alerts are powered through our service provider, Arity.

These features are controlled through a setting called Connect to Arity.

When on, it enables:

Drive Detection
Real-time speed during drives
Driving history and reports
Crash Alerts
Family Driving Summary

If turned off, these features will not function.

Open Settings
Tap Privacy & Security
Select Arity
Toggle off Connect to Arity

Personalized Advertising

You can manage your personalized advertising preferences at any time in the app.

Your control:

Open Settings
Tap Privacy & Security
Select Your Privacy Choices
From there, you can control
- Personalized Ads within Life360
- Personalized Ads outside of Life360

If you have disabled tracking for Life360 at your device’s operating system level, you may already be opted out.

Traffic and Retail Insights

You can choose whether your data is used to help generate Traffic and Retail Insights, which are created from aggregated Life360 data.

Your control:

Open Settings
Tap Privacy & Security
Tap Traffic & retail insights
Toggle off Include my data

If you turn this setting off, your data will not be included in new aggregated insights going forward. Previously created reports cannot be modified.
